Why I'm with South Whidbey Fire and Rescue:
I started to volunteer with Contra Costa Fire in California in 1981. I really enjoy working with the public in many ways and working with the department allows me to interact with people during training events and sometimes when we respond to calls during the worst day of someone's lives we can be of service and possible comfort to them and I think this is the best way to give back to a community that supports my family and business. It is a real blessing to have a volunteer fire department where you can call a lot of people "family" and know that they really have your back in times of need.
Why YOU should volunteer:
If you have the time we have a place for you. We are serious about what we do and how we do it and if that is the environment that you like to be a part of then come join us. There are many ways to give back to a community and I think that keeping costs down for tax payers and helping your neighbor go hand in hand. If you wish to be involved we would appreciate your time and efforts for South Whidbey.
