BURN BAN IN EFFECT

OUTDOOR BURNING RESTRICTED IN ISLAND COUNTY AS OF 8:00 AM July 15, 2010
  • NO OUTDOOR BURNING OF NATURAL DEBRIS – EVEN WITH A PERMIT
  • RECREATIONAL / COOKING FIRES ALLOWED ONLY IN APPROVED FIRE PITS

On January 1, 2007, outdoor burning became illegal within 15 additional areas throughout NWCAA's jurisdiction. The new burn bans are part of a state law, passed more than a decade ago, that has been phased in gradually. This last provision to take effect bans all outdoor burning within designated Urban Growth Area (UGA) boundaries. The affected areas are listed below.
